Sarah received her PhD in cellular biology from the University of Georgia, where she worked on organellar DNA replication in the protozoan parasite Toxoplasma. She went on to a postdoctoral position at UCSF, where she was involved in the genome project for Stentor, a giant protist and a model for single-cell regeneration. She now works as a data curator at the 4D Nucleome Data Coordination and Integration Center.
